Optio 430rs wont turn on

I got the optio 430rs a couple of years ago off ebay, worked for about a week then, nothing. Fully charged battery, never got it wet, never got sand in it, never dropped it, its in absolutely perfect condition and came still in the box. When i try to turn it on nothing happens at all, no lights nothing on the lcd display, no noise from the lens. I cant find any one who will repair it and am waiting to hear back from pentax to see how much they will charge. Has anybody got any suggestions or know where i could get it repaired at a reasonable price in the uk or ireland?

Very few of the "traditional" camera repairers will even look at digital cameras. You might like to ask Asahiphoto if they do but they are about the only Pentax specialists that I can think off that might. http://www.asahiphoto.co.uk/

Bent or corroded baterry contacts on the camera or charger?

No the battery is in perfect condition. Its never been outside the camera, except in the charger (thanks don). Thanks kim c for that gonna give that a look into. Wow the people here are so helpful and quick. I've been waiting over 2 days for an email back from pentax, here it only took a couple of hours.
