Optio 33L capture delay

I now realise that this is part of the deal with this level of digital camera and have read some tips on how to avoid it.

as I have the same problem with my s4 but never had the problem with my 330!

I too have the optio 33l and had this problem. To get around it, I set my camera to manual mode. You just have to make sure the image is in focus.

I'd be grateful for any advice...
I've got an Optio 33L which is great, but I'm finding quite a significant delay between pressing the shutter release button and the actual capture of the image, so I'm not getting the shots that I want! Especially of fast moving things like my children!!
Can anyone shed any light? I've trawled through the instructions, played with all the settings and can't seem to find what is causing it.
