I haven't had any replies about this post. Does no one know of this problem? Also, can anyone suggest anywhere that are good for repairs and not too expensive. Thanks

Gee,
Sorry, I've had no experience with the Optios.
However, I have found Pentax UK to be extremely helpful. It might be worth calling them first (assuming you're in the UK). If you are a member of the Pentax User Club you get a healthy discount on Pentax repairs
Also, www.asahiphoto.net do Pentax repairs. They were very helpful on the phone too
Hope that helps,
Matt

Just posted a reply for msg: "My Optio 330 Rs doesn't turn on" by Tony33
"I posted a similar topic before this one (Optio 330 Shutter Problem - Please help) and am having the same problem! I have spoken to someone at Pentax UK and have been told it could cost between £35 - £95 depending on the problem. They said that it could be some grit or sand in the mechanism that has just worked its way in and jammed it up. Personally I feel like just opening it up and getting an airduster to it, but am worried it might be too fidly inside and don't want to screw it up even more! has anyone opened one of these up and can advise on the best practice of doing it?"
Can anyone advise or help??
Regards,
Gee

I had the same problem last year, fortunately whilst still unger guarantee. The bad news is that Pentax kept it for about three months!

Hi All,
I have an Optio 330 that starts up, but when the lens extends, there is a faint bleep and it then closes automatically. First I thought it was a low battery, but after fully charging it I get the same problem. I cam go to playback mode and view pics, but the moment I try and shoot pics, the lens extends and then closes again. Anyone had this problem or know of a fix?
Please help as I love my camera... any advice would be great.
