Hi, I recently purchased the strap above. One side was fine the other side the little glider was lose so I sent it back as agreed, the supplier says there is nothing wrong with it!
I was concerned it being lose could be a problem later .I know some here own them,so what I am really asking is
have I been unreasonable?
Maybe it is because I bought it on the Internet and asked for postage as it was faulty?!!
Thanks

I have one on my 645 and haven't had any problems. Not sure what the glider is...

Just to ask, are you asking for the money you paid to send the strap back or the money for the original P&P.

If it's the original P&P then you are entitled to this even if the item isn't faulty.

Hi,The glider is for keeping the strap flat.I sent it back as requested,he said there was nothing wrong and refused to send another as had been agreed. Also said as it isn't faulty won't refund the postage.

So is there actually anything faulty with the glider or not? If there isn't the supplier's position seems entirely reasonable.

Now I see! The little glider is the piece of plastic that is used to stop the excess length of strap flapping about.

The fact that it slides easily (and presumably the unsecured excess strap waves about) is a nuisance I'd say, rather than a fault. You could just bind up the flapping strap with a piece of electical tape, etc, if it annoys you.

Normally if you return something as faulty and the retailer returns it as 'fault not found' then postage is down to you, especially as the retailer also incurred postal costs to return it to you after inspection.

You say, however, that the agreement was for a replacement, regardless of whether the original was faulty? If that's the case you need to decide how much principle is worth to you and what, if any action you can/are willing to take against the retailer. There's always negative feed-back.

He just wrote return it and he would replace it.He then just refunded the items cost .I was concerned as one glider was nice and tight and the other was quite lose,I have never owned or really seen one of these straps before,so I tried to explain to him what was wrong and after asking for a photo he said the above.

I don't have it he does.I phoned eBay they were really helpful.I suppose my main problem was a lack of communication after what he said he would do.
I appreciate all of your input, thanks.

If you bought it new from a commercial seller then he has to give the full amount of money you paid, including postage. And you are allowed to have opened it.

Check this out.
