Opening DNG files with Photoshop Elements

I have a K3 and I cannot open DNG files using Photoshop Elements 6.0, I also have Faststone Image Viewer and it will open these files. I also have a K5 and I have no problem with that, the only difference seems to be the file size. Any ideas anyone?

Try processing the raw file with Adobe's DNG converter before opening in Elements. It is a free download but be careful which version you select according to camera.

I had a similar issue where I could not see image previews of K5 raw files but could after processing.

When you open a DNG file in Adobe PSE it should automatically open in Camera Raw. Try to update your version of Adobe Camera Raw to the latest version. PSE 6 is very old now and it may be that the latest you can update Camera Raw to is not compatible with the K3.
