One week to go

Despite the flood of entries to the 7. round of the fortnightly competition I have decided to take up the task and also judge all entries that come in during the latter half of the competition.

I was tempted to cut this round early as it is difficult for me to judge so many entries (I do have a day job, you know). But in a heroic effort to support this fine forum I will meet this challenge.

I did also put up a prize for early bird entries (a K20D) during the first 48 hours but as no one submitted I have to keep it. (Sorry for not posting this incentive earlier.)

That's all I have time for, have to write the critiques for the entries that are already in. I should have known that the number of entries would go off scale for this one...

It's frustrating being the judge, isn't it? Especially when nothing seems to be happening. I know it is hard to believe now, but I would (almost) be willing to bet you'll get at least five entries in the end.

The other frustrating thing is not being able to read the comments section at this stage. However, I can report that people are saying it's an interesting subject, which hopefully again says there are entries on the way.

Of course some might argue we should try moving the photos part of the fortnightly competition out of this forum and into the competitions section of the gallery. Would anyone object?

I've got one or two ideas and will try to do something this weekend.

I'm not that worried. If there are no entries I will declare myself the winner again!

I have to say, though, that it is a bit unusual to have no entry at all after a week. I will start worrying around Tuesday.
But I don't have another worry I usually have: What to submit for the fortnightly competition

You did shoot with a Canon in the last week? How did that happen?

I'm glad you're cured!
If they were shot within the competition period and you have seen sense since using the Canon I think I could be tempted to let the shot in.
It's more work for me but with this flood of entries it hardly makes a difference

There are some people you cannot convert.

One being a guy I occasionally second shoot for, I have to use his canon.
Never mind you can not win them all.

Prieni, I have one image I am going to enter, first ever entry though, so am not jumping the gun in case I come up with a better shot before the cut-off date. I also think people like to keep their cards close to their chest with such an open theme, in case they give others ideas !

I have two ideas. One is shot but not downloaded or processed yet so may be pants. The other will rely on having some nicer weather some day before the deadline!

I have an idea that might work well, I'll try to make some time at the weekend

The only think comes to my mind is to shoot the bl... the rain / fog.

I would And if you want to know why, just browse the forum and you come up with a lot of answers.

And to Prieni: don't worry. You get your entries. But remember....The idea of this comp. is to specially go out and shoot for the occasion. If you come up with a challenging theme, like you did , please allow us to give it a good thought. So....be careful what you wish for....
