I like the cow, but I think the Wheatear is bit lost in the frame. However I can see if you crop it too much you would loose the context of the picture. Rock and a hard place

It's a pretty big crop anyway, any more would really blow any i.q. there may be clean out the water!

Fascinating landscape up on the Plain, could have done with better weather.

I very much like the tank tracks as portrayed. The cute cow would potentially by my favourite although I think I would crop it a little less tightly myself, the Wheatear shot is potentially appealing but as most here will know my pet hate above pretty much all else is processing artifacts so I would try to get rid of the halo on bottom edge and gradient reversal on the top edge of the lid - not easy I know with such a high contrast subject.

Two points...
First, I'm aware of processing "halos", but can't see one/any on the bottom edge of the tank lid;

& secondly, could you please tell me about "gradient reversal" & how it has manifested itself in my image, on the top edge of the lid.

OK, when your image processing software does edge sharpening or local contrast increase you tend to get 'gradient reversals' at high contrast edges unless either the software has special algorithms to avoid these or you look very carefully and manually choose settings that don't go too far and create these artifacts.

A 'halo' is just a gradient reversal where a bright area next to a dark one becomes even brighter at the boundary and I can see a thin one on both top and bottom of the lid if I look carefully. You can also get the reverse effect spilling into the dark area where an even darker boundary appears and sometimes some ringing where a bright area appears in the dark as well. I think I can see these effects on the top edge of the lid but these are more difficult to be certain on and I'll believe you if you tell me they are actually natural bits of shadow and light reflections.

You probably have a better screen than I, I can't make out any halo, so I'm quite satisfied with that aspect of the image.

The double dark/light/dark detail on the top of the lid is actually light hitting the casting on the edge of the lid, as was.
