i think ten times that is a stack for a manual focus lens....
Personally i wouldn't want a lens that long as a manual as i'd be using it for sports

Hi Matt
It was you huh....good on you, I have the A version so wasn't too dissapointed, I'll get one eventually.
Promised myself I was finished but couldn't let this one slip by, I sold my 70-210 when I bought the Sigma f2.8, but I really miss it as it's such a good walk around lens along with the 24-90. I honestly didn't think I would get one again as the price has rocketed over the last few months but hey it looks a bargain and the 35-70 is no slouch either.
Get my FA135 and A*300 back tomorrow from the repairers, will let you all know the outcome if I manage to get out of Fife that is, gone crazy here with this bird flu stuff, I'm just out of the 10km zone but seems they are doing some checks on the bridges to Edinburgh and Dundee (only county in UK where you have to pay to get in and get out ).

eBay has certainly turned the second-hand market on it's head!
My first AF SLR was an SFX that I paid £160 for, just after the SFXn was released and I then bought an F35-135 for £176 (new price around £220).
Both came from Jessops and I considered them to be bargains, the camera was a very recent model and the lens was still current. For quite a few years the second-hand prices were more or less stable but dropped a little when the Z series and FA lenses were introduced and again with the MZ range.
Then came the digital revolution and online auction sites like eBay and boy do we have a real mish-mash of prices, there's just no way of knowing what an item will fetch
I've considered listing the SFX and F35-135 but the cameras go for peanuts and I think a 35-135 recently sold for about £30. Both are as good as the day I bought them and although they get very little use, it'll be hard to part with them, especially for so little.
I think eBay is a great way to buy and an excellent way to get rid of unwanted stuff but to make any money, you really need to be lucky and find people desperate enough to get into a bidding war.
Brian's example demonstrates the advice that I've given a couple of times - don't just look for individual items, consider kits and collections too
