Olympic Torch in Birkenhead

Well, I got back form work in time to go to Birkenhead park, but couldn't take time to look for a decent spot, so joined up with the Mrs.
Unfortunately, the crowd surge and our vantage point meant I couldn't get a clear shot of the torch when it was lit, but I got a few shots whilst Chris Boardman was waiting to receive the flame.
Mostly of family album merit, but I thought I'd put them up here to see.

And Jacob managed to hold the torch for a few seconds, so it was worth going regardless of photo opportunities.

At least you where there

I dropped my son and better half off at the aqueduct on Wednesday morning - the amount of people out made me feel like I was the only one going to work that morning
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

I had been (mis)led to believe that it was Chris Boardman, the cyclist. However, he must have been doing the next leg. This was Andy Tutte, his story is here

Fair enough! I do think it has been a positive force for good - the local recognition for outstanding individuals.
