Olivon TRH-14 Grip Head

No, but the only advice I can give is . . . stick with one manufacturer. I've settled on Manfrotto gear, mainly because I hate changing those base plates. Consequently, mine are all the same, and every piece of kit I have that needs one, has a base plate fitted.

do you have the Manfrotto Pistol type then.

No I don't, but others here do. Maybe some will comment later. I think Clarky has one, but I'm not sure.

The pistol grip is a sound idea but I'm happy with a ball head.

I believe there is a very good pistol grip made by Slik. I personally wouldn't buy anything other than Manfrotto for the reason I stated previously.

The Manfrotto 322RC2 pistol grip type head was the 1st decent tripod head we bought, and was replaced quite quickly to be honest. Main reason was that it is not very good for fine adjustments.

To be honest, the only use I would give it now would be on a monopod where fine adjustments don't really happen!

I have two Slik pistol grips and think they are brilliant :-

The one in the photograph is on my monopod and the other one is on my tripod.

The only downside is if you do lots of 'stitched together' panoramas.

I am looking at pistol grips for bird photos. At the moment i have a pan&tilt style head but it has 3 separate locks they take to long to set. i wondered if the grips would be easier than even a ball head?
