Old Nikonian turns Pentaxian!

Hello.
Thought I would just check in to say hi. After downsizing and flogging of my digital SLR stuff due to arrival of young kids, a few years down the line I missed it enough to dive back in.
I've always been a Nikon guy until now (FM, FM2, D50, D70) but the modest available expenditure meant widening my field. The current budget Nikons (D3100 etc) and Canons were an option but they felt really cheap to me so I happened to spot a nearby K-R on display. Considering it's current budget price, I was expecting it to be like all the others of that price range but no, it felt really sturdy and well made, despite it's compact size. After a few days ownership I'm impressed and very happy with it.
No doubt I'll be asking Pentax related questions in the near future

Welcome to the form Brian.

Perhaps one of the first things you may need to do is update your new camera to the latest firmware for that model.

You'll find all that you need here.

Sadly tis true. I've just received an old AF Pentax F 35-70mm 3.5-4.5 macro lens. Only had it a couple of hours and already plotting it's moving on
