The second shot I like a lot, Emma. The people really give a nice sense of perspective and scale within the image.
In this image the foreground does look as though it has been brightened up a tad for the detail, it looks a little too much by my reckoning. Judging by the light source you can improve on the shadows here and still keep detail.

I absolutely LOVE picture NO.2. That sun is to die for - but I won't just yet cause I have my new toy!!
I like the higher contrasting PP for effect purposes, but the first, brighter edit of Andrews looks very natural to me.
