No, turning the camera off and on sorted it - the usual IT support first reponse to a computer problem . It isn't an explanation but there's no way of getting a handle on it unless it happens again and I can spot a common factor.

South Dorset
Background: Individual shots (bee bothering ), not rattling off like a machine gun. Lastest firmware installed. Battery indicator showing full. Lens was Irix 150mm macro (manual focus of course) + 1.4TC, the usual for hunting bugs and bees. And I'd been playing back previous images quite successfully before the wheel appeared.
