I'm very pleased as well, it's a stunning shot.
The bokeh also looks very nice in the background, wished I had some money

Nice shot Peter. It looks sharp enough, but I think your
focused on the leaves on the left, so it could have been
even sharper ?...... they may be in line with the robin
though..... still if you've got a lens like that
why bother focusing

I think the focus is off slightly, maybe a problem with the lens maybe Peter should let me take it off his hands...."Cheep"
but not so cheap, I dont want him to feel as if I'm "Robin" him
Nice shot but I bet you baited the tree stump/post with mealworms
EDIT, typo

Funny thing was last weekend I spent the last hour and a half of light sitting in the garden with camera at the ready and nothing showed up at all. We have two pairs of robins and they always are around when we are gardening, so I was disappointed.
Yesterday I was getting the lens on the camera ready to try again and I saw this chap on the post through the kitchen window. S o I slowly edged out the door to the garden snapping away expecting him to take flight, but instead i got about 10 shots off.
I think he was making amends for not appearing the previous week.

I grabbed this with the new DA* 60-250, and I am very pleased with it.
