First of congratulations!
That said: what a hard luck. Not sure about the bent lens. Does it shoot round corners? That could be useful.

Thank you.
Tried that, somehow it stops the shutter from releasing.

Yes Congratulation on the marriage, John.
I've got a lens attachment for shooting round corners - never found a use for it.
The 18-270 could be a handy lens to add to my collection but it sounds like this one's condition might be a little worse for wear!
I hope the body survived without any damage & that the lens was insured.
Mike

I'm not familiar with the 18-270 but I know from experience that the 16-50 has a nasty habit of locking up if it gets a knock while extended, a gentle wiggle (albiet with a bit of pressure) seems to ease the barrel back into place, the lens will then be OK until it's next knock.
This happened twice with my previous copy (until it hit York Stone Paving and went to camera heaven) and it's happened once with the replacement.

Next thing I knew, aperson walked past, the table slipped and toppled, combination fell to the floor(about 2feet (610mm)). Picked it up, switched on, camera all lit up but would not take a photo.
"Oh, bugger.", I thought but kept trying, still no joy, then I lokked at the lens from the side of the camera and noticed it was bent.
After calming down, not a day to get angry, I cahnged the lens to a prime and everything was fine!
Anybody want to buy a bent lens?
