So - I have been granted time off for good behavior and tomorrow shall be driving up to Beadnell Bay for 3 days R+R - just me and the gear - no work - no kids.

I know Northumberlamd reasonably well - as in the usual tourist destinations - Bamburgh, Seahouses, Holy Island, Alnwick, Craster (and Dunstanburgh castle), Cragside, Farn Isles etc.

It is more than 20 years since I visited Berwick and I have vague memories of the town centre and a bridge over a muddy river - is it worth a visit?

What about Eyemouth - any decent photo opportunities in that area?

Any hidden gems between Alnwick and the Borders? I do not want to waste too much of my 3 days driving so would like to keep to roughly a 35 mile radius of Beadnell

Chillingham Castle - an absolute gem, full of wonders wherever you go.

Beadnell harbour can produce stunning sunset shots at the right time as it is the only west facing harbour entrance in Northumberland.Alnmouth also worth a look at and if you go there might as well take a look at Warkworth.I am going the other way to York for a few days just me and the motorhome.
You could have a look at this lads work on the surrounding area.

We're off to stay in Craster Friday for a week. I'll be trying out the Colkin grad ND's Carl kindly set me up with. We realised we'd not been for 18 years. Doesn't look like it has changed much. Camera gear has though

Not sure about low shots though as I've had keyhole knee surgery today!

Let's hope I also come back with some photos worth sharing.

I will be just up the road Bill and probably visiting Craster on Saturday - if you are going to be around - could meet up
