A very interesting shot that is worth to tinker with a bit longer. I'm also one craving for the top bits of train.
Yes, the cropped version is nice and does work on it's own and it is a very good shot. It's just that with the train it is even better.
I'm with Pauly, if the sky is too bright then darken it.

The first one would have really worked for me if the linear light area to the top right could be lost....
I think the red light is a very effective contrast to a great graphic image.
