I suppose there comes a time when "affording it" becomes "investing in"....but I know where you`re coming from.Looks fantastic. If only I could carry that around, as well as afford it...

Largest I own is this mint SMC Pentax 85-210mm f4.5:

I have the correct lens hood on order at the moment after finding an ebay dealer in Canada with a handful of them.

We had a thread called "get your big one or ones out" some time back but sadly nearly all the images are no longer available, apart from Oggy's one above and Gartmore's 645 monster.
My "biggest lens" is the Tamron 70-300mm which is a baby really, although the Vivitar original Series 1 70-200 zoom is biggish. I'll be selling that soon though.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I didn't think it was that big to be honest.
It fits in my bag on the camera a lot better than the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 and the 100-300mm f4 wont go in at all with the body attached.
Buy a bigger bag Mike - my K20D EX100-300 combo fits in just nicely and there's room for my Tokina 400AF. Mind you after two weeks my back needs restraightening

First impressions:
Christ, it's a whopper! (see pics below)
It's beautifully built; this thing just ooozes quality from one end to the other. The finish, control, fitting and glass all seem absolutely perfect. (note that this is my first DA* lens)
SDM seems quick and responsive - bear in mind I've only had a quick play in very low light (major issue with ordering new glass at this time of the year: I have to wait until the weekend to test it properly)
Did I mention that it's big?!?! Photos below show it on my gripped K-7 compared to my g/f's K-m with a DA 50-200 attached!
