Is there any plan's to meet before Christmas

We have not arranged anything in the North east yet, I would be game if it was Mid December, Any suggestions?

There were many suggestions for Christmas in Edinburgh (and it's about time).

There is lots to see and photograph in the city - even trees!

I second that one, The German market can be quite good for night shots and of course the trees are nice.

a bit far for me but i may come if anyone from rugby/Coventry is willing to share petrol

I could be up for this depending on the date, I only have the weekend of the 12/13th available, of course I'd have to make a short break of it and let the wife tag along, maybe give her a couple of quid for the shops on the saturday

Not sure yet, although the idea is great, just need to check my diary. So to wet peoples apatite Gareth, what would you suggest are the photographic highlights.

Capital of one of Europe's oldest nations, World Heritage Site, Castle, Scottish Crown Jewels, Palace, Parliament, Old Town, New Town, pubs.

Not a patch on Glasgow though, at least we've got shops on both sides of the main street.

There are great views from Carlton Hill which is 10 minutes from Waverley station. There is the Castle of course.

Now I think of it the problem with living somewhere is you never look at it properly!

I just heard theres a lot of construction going on in Edinburgh and its not a good time to visit, something to do with trams???

Looks like my chances of coming up are getting smaller by the day anyway, the wife has just expressed a desire for the utility room to be re-tiled and decorated before Xmas
The only good thing is I will be so busy she'll have to do most of the Xmas shopping herself

The tram works are a pain, but not if you're walking. It will be mobbed (like anywhere) at that time of year. But there will be lots to shoot.

OK heres an idea for a week long meet.

One of my Camera Club members recently organised a holiday in Scotland, 8 of us split the cost of hiring a house in Comrie, this one to be precise link and we had a fantastic week, some of us went with partners and others individually, obviously the ones with partners got the double bedrooms

I'm not suggesting anything quite as grand as Glenbuckie House or we could even consider B&B, and if B&B is the option we could come down from a week to a long weekend, we might even get a discount for a large party. Obviously it wont be next month (more like 12 months) as it would take some organising and some mug to collect deposits etc (before jetting off alone to the Bahamas) but I think its a viable plan. Next Autumn might be a good time.

Anyone interested?
