Good afternoon!

I just wanted to let you know that we are launching our new website today so there may be a little downtime whilst the switch occurs.

The new site has been worked on for a few months and has some noteable enhancements. Stock availabilty is more obvious, the site is quicker to navigate and is easier to use on mobile devices for example.

We are also offering customer rewards points on most items which means that when you buy from us, you get points which can then be used to discount future purchases from us - it's always nice to save some money!

We are hopeful that we can open the shop doors once again on the 12th April and look forward to seeing everyone again. April will be a big month for a new product!

If anyone has any queries then please contact me via messages, email the shop on [email protected] or call us on 01923 226602.

Keep well everyone!
For all things Pentax please visit www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk - anything not listed please email or call!

Can I make a suggestion Chris ... the 645 lenses either need their own section or grouping together at the end. Just looks a bit messy to me.

There's a filter for that...

Thanks Mike - if you navigate to Lenses - Pentax, it will show all Pentax branded lenses regardless of type. As Barkin said, use the filters on the left hand side to 'streamline' your search.....

I saw the filter, I just think 99% of people will click on Pentax lenses and see everything jumbled up.

Just looks a bit messy to me.

Generally very nice. But a few niggles.

1. It took me a while to find Pentax lenses via Pentax Shop. Big squares for DSLR and Medium Format cameras, 5 smaller squares underneath as 'Pentax Departments', then 'Our latest 10 items'. By that time, I was confused, it shouldn't be so difficult to find lenses. Eventually found lenses in the small print... And then I checked the Olympus Shop. Cameras and lenses on an equal footing. Now I'm even more confused.

2. A minor niggle when I did find the lenses. Scrolled down quickly, looked at a lens and saw it was out of stock. It took a minute or two to realise that in/out of stock referred to the lens above, not below. As it stands, the stock status is closer to the lens below in many instances so that's the lens the eye (and brain) associates with it. Adjusting the spacing would sort it out. (Yes, I know that clicking on the little square or the lens itself gives full details, but if you think it's out of stock you might not bother...).

3. Looking for Irix lenses just gave Error 404. A website bug or no Irix lenses in stock? If the latter, a 'Sorry nothing in stock at the moment' message would be a lot better.

4. A long standing niggle - DSLR lenses to fit full frame also fit APS-C. Those of us who hang around PF know that and would look at FF lenses even if we only have an APS-C camera. But some people don't know it so wouldn't necessarily look. Just a note and link on the APS-C page would be enough.

Very nearly there though. But just like when I decorate a room, there's always something I missed and someone else notices...!

Thanks for the feedback Steve - appreciate it.

1. I agree and will get it changed - your suggestion would be better.

2. I see what you mean - I'll see if I can get it to look more obvious.

3. This is now sorted - we don't have any Irix lenses in stock at the moment.

4. This is a niggle for me too and we debated long and hard about the best way forward with this. You'd be amazed how many orders we get for APS-C lenses for the K-1 cameras which then involves a phone call querying the crop in the viewfinder as it's thought to be a fault. I'll see what I can do with this - you can of course filter for both full frame and crop to display both groups of lenses.

Thanks once again. It's taken a good few months to get the site live and, as I've said, feedback is very much appreciated.

I hope you are direct with these people Chris, and tell them to RTFM. It's not a cheap purchase to buy a K-1 and you'd think people would do a proper research before wasting your time. But I guess you must have the patient of a saint, I wouldn't last 2 minutes in your shop as a salesman ..

I thought the website was good originally, far better than a lot of other retailers and will put it to the test when I am ready to buy my next Pentax item, just make sure you have that button that gives me a 50% discount on a 150-450

In the main categories links the Optics takes me to Lighting. Also, “Accesories”?

No AF-360 FGZII flashgun, has it been discontinued?

No doubt you are dealing with similar queries for other brands so good luck with this!

Thanks! I'll get this sorted, there are a few very minor issues which we are trying to get through but nothing major in terms of functionality, thankfully.

Yes - the AF 360 FGZ II is discontinued. Only found out this week when I went to order some more. No replacement model is planned for a while. *I think* that they are made for Pentax by a third party which could be why they are are no longer available.
