Yes, that is just what they said they would do. Pentax for DSLRs, Ricoh for compacts.
It would be interesting to see how a replacement for the MX-1 fitted into that!

Wonder if that means high end compact and maybe future mirrorles?
Would love a Gr with a fastish zoom (maybe a collapsible 20-40mm F2.8-4) and a big hotshoe EVF

According to another site, the Pentax MX-1 is being discontinued, at least in the US. As you hint at John, it is difficult to picture a replacement although Ricoh compacts are quite special in themselves.
