New lens acquisition !!

Well i took the plunge and got myself a DA*300mm. Picked it up this afternoon on my way to work.
Can't wait to give it a run.

I blame chirpy and Dan mostly for relieving my wallet of its hard earned

I'm doing graveyard and the only one here. Its lonely at the top

I did go out and snap a few full moon shots though.

What job do you do Clarky? Bank robbing? Money laundering? You do seem to have an excess of cash knocking about.

Clarky did mention previously that there used to be a goldmine under his house which is now exhausted.

At the moment baby sitting a bunch of grown men who do nothing but whinge all night.
Here's one example i got tonight.

Nag,nag,nag.........Next thing, you start wining about the fact that all the Sherpas ( who must carry your gear) are in backorder, and take longer to arrive that that 180 macro you are still wating for.

Another 2 weeks they tell me before the new shipment of Sigma 180s hit our shores.

A little annoyed with that considering i only brought the K20 because the guy offered me a deal for a Sigma 180 + K20 combo and the Sigma was in stock. But when i go to pick it up NO SIGMA.

I had to buy the DA*300 to sooth my LBA until the Sigma arrives
I had to pull out all stops with my haggling and bargaining skills to acquire the 300mm. You couldn't get it anywhere in Aust for less than AU$2150 most places were over $2200 but i ended up getting it for $1900.
Lying on the floor of the store holding my breath, crying, you name it i did it until the saleman relented and couldn't get me out of the door quick enough

I get as much joy out of bargianing for them as do using them

Holy s**t. Did you shoot the salesman after he stole your money. Here(Canada), I could get it for around Can$1100.00. Taking the exchange rate in account, in my book, this is highway robbery. I feel sorry for you.

I know what you mean, Camera gear is very expensive in this country I was very tempted to get it from prodigital2000 but after weighing it all up, exchange rate, taxes and duty, postage, warranty, and the fact i don't trust that seller swayed me to keep it in house.

$1900 is roughly what its going for in the UK
We can't compete with Canadian and US prices.
