new lens??

hi all, i recently bought the pentax k-r with the 300mm twins lens kit and already im wanting a new lens. i have become addicted to DOF in pics and my k-r is always on aperture priority. can anyone recommend a good value lens with the widest aperture for taking close ups of flowers/insects that blur out backgrounds? thanks all :)

The 18-55 will get you close enough to nearly fill the frame with a very large flower, like a hydrangea or one of those huge clematis flowers. The macro lens will allow you to fill the frame with very small flowers, or the individual parts of the clematis etc. It will also be better at blurring out the background in portraits etc because it is longer, and faster.
