Same here - must be a 'feature'. I do find my shutter significantly quieter than my K10 was though.

I don't know what the K10 and GX20's shutter sounds like, but having shot with a Sony A200 and a Canon 50D, I can tell you that the K7's shutter is the quietest of all my cameras. The only other thing is that the shutter doesn't seem as quiet as I was expecting, although it is quieter - was I expecting too much of a difference from the K10/GX20 ?
The Sony A200's shutter is so loud that you'd think half the town heard you taking a photo. The 50D's shutter is a lot quieter, though sounds a little "flimsy". I know I always worry that it's about to break. The K7 on the other hand sounds quite but reassuringly solid.
Yes, these are all subjective. Sue me.

When taking a picture there is a slight vibration and sound(not particularly loud) on the right side of the handgrip just before it appears to write the data to the SD card.
The sound and vibration seem to happen just before the SD card light comes on as the data is written across - is this normal ??
When the drive mode is set to continuous it only happens when the shooting stops and data copied across (presumably it may happen if the buffer filled up)
I wouldn't have raised this normally as it seems minor, but there was no such vibration or sound with my K10 and GX20.
The only other thing is that the shutter doesn't seem as quiet as I was expecting, although it is quieter - was I expecting too much of a difference from the K10/GX20 ?
Any thoughts welcome
