Of course you are, the instructions are very straightforward and it only takes about 90 secs.

Just wondering whether this corrected recording stability with sdhc cards was the issue I had here:

Updated my K200 and it seems to have done something in the firmware.
My Tamron 18-250 suddenly seems sharper at the long end, could Pentax have resolved any lens recognition/ shake reduction problems we were not aware of?

With the Whitby Goth meet imminent I am leaving well alone for the mo'
Might have a go next week sometime, I have had problems with one card, error message saying "file cannot be read do I want to try again" it always transfers the file on the second attempt so its not really been a problem.

Hardgravity : extended tests made and reported by Falconeyes (over at PentaxForums) seem to show that an undocumented SR improvement was made on the K7 with one of the v1.03 silent firmware updates...
So, everything is possible...

HG,
It might also be that the 7.1 mb contains at least some replacement 'stuff', rather than 'all new' material?

It's all replacement stuff, they don't partially update the firmware but replace it fully.

Yes i-Berg but of course they can add or remove codes I believe.
I'm still hoping they will release a SDK for the firmware of non current camera models so that handy users can develop new firmware for it.
I'm sure some are handy enough to break the code to adjust the AF of lenses from the K20D and place it inside the K10D.

Updated both my K10 and K20, also MAK`s K200. My K10 AF appears to be much faster. No difference with my K20. As with HG`s findings the K200 focus at the long end of a Tamron 28 - 300 is a lot less soft.

All settings retained on my K200D.
My Tamron 70-300 also seems more positive in focusing at the long end, especially in lower light.
