When I updated my K20 to 1.03 it didn't but I haven't checked since I updated to 1.04.

Isn't that enough?

It depends. If you do not suffer from SDHC instability issues and the update does not do anything else, then it probably isn't worth taking the (very small) chance of turning your camera into a door stop.

I haven't had a problem yet with a SDHC card so, for now, I think I'll give this "upgrade" a miss.

Hi Tim
When you unpack (run) the downloaded file, two new files will appear, the xxx.bin file which is the update software and the readme.txt file that explains everything.

Tim - the file you are trying to open is the firmware itself. There should have been a file called readme.txt with it when you downloaded it. This is the file you open with Windows and contains the destructions.
