There is new firmware on the Japanese site for Pentax digitals inc the 645D. Seems to be for compliance with memory cards. I've alraedy downloaded for my K7.

Best regards

Under News.

Not at PentaxImaging yet it seems.

Very interesting that they've put out a new firmware for the K-7. Is this the first time they've done it for a discontinued camera?

More evidence of the change to Ricoh being a positive move.

@ChrisA - Pentax released a FW update for the K10D a couple of years ago (v1.31?) by which time the K10D was discontinued. (FW update for K20D at the same time, think that might have been dicontinued by then also).

Thanks, updated my k5, seems a biggish download just to improve writing reliability for SDXC? No conspiracy, just sayin...

Firmware will always be a biggish download as it's the whole code for the hardware

But, Pentax have been known to silently fix/tweak things in firmware updates Wish they were more open about the changes they've made...

Industry wide Matt, bit more openess would be good but companies fall for one bad product these days...

All installed thanks.

I'm sure my low light focusing is faster.

My 55-300mm DA on my KR seems more responsive.

Either they put more in these updates OR somehow re-installing tidies up memory or something. Any ideas?
