New (to me) F series 24 - 50mm lens. First outing.

Very impressive, a great option for a full frame and autofocusing wide angle lens at a reasonable price.
All the gear with no idea

That last one is a superb skyscape . The top right corner seems a bit dark - was the sky really like that, is it a wide angle lens lens effect, was a polarising filter used (etc.)?
It look like an interesting lens for APS-C, too, as well as full frame - a compact, light weight, short standard zoom equivalent to the 35-70mm that came with my first SLR (nostalgia sets in...:wink.

May I ask if you used a tripod. My old hands are getting very shaky and I can't seem to achieve this level of sharpness any more. Thanks. Lovely shots. Regards John

To answer the questions, the dark sky is due to putting too strong a grad ND filter over the lens (I only had the one with me). They are all hand held. Steady hands are about all that does work properly these days ! My optician is starting to talk about cataracts so I'm not looking forward to that.

Looks good to me. Like number five... beautiful sky but a little dark?

I always enjoyed this little lens - it may be the same optical formula but I found it to handle strong lighting/flare better than the A series version.
Nice selection of photos, I think you'll have a lot use from it
p.s. The lens hood is reportedly a pentax RH-B 60mm

Certainly recommend this one - if you can find one. They seem a bit rare.
