New K20D Owner changed from Nikon

Well I wondered if I had done the right thing changing from Nikon to Pentax, over the last few years I have been disapointed with my photography even some of the Weddings I have done I have felt that they have not been 100%. So armed with my K20D and 16-40DA lens (and Tracey) we headed to Whitby, well maybe I was right to change( photos in Gallery) and I think one of the main things that work well is the Anti-shake, It is better in body than haveing it in the lens as with Nikon & Canon. Has anyone else found this?

No, I've never really used any other brand. I've had a play with a Canon 30D + 17-70mm IS lens, but not enough to make any real comparison.

I've used a friend's Nikon D200 with a VR lens and I don't think there's much (if any) difference in the end results in my opinion. Of course, in-lens anti shake gives you a stabilised view through the viewfinder (which is nice!) but in-body anti shake allows you to use it with all your lenses without extra cost. For this reason I prefer in-body but I don't think it gives any performance advantage.

Glad you got on well with the K20D though - maybe your improvements are down to the camera suiting you better? There's no substitute for something that feels "right" in your hands after all!

Yes I am a pro photographer who is also ditching Nikon, just got rid of my D2x bodies and the glass is going as well.
I am using the K20D with an 18-250mm at the moment picking up the new Pentax lenses this week

Nikon gear just seems to drop in price too quickly every time they bring out a new body and Pentax not only seems good value for money with at least equal quality in lenses and performance, but the K20D also won in the self cleaning stakes as I often have to work in remote locations, dust on the sensor can be a real problem, I also like the fact that it is weather sealed as well another requirement for the news photographer.

The fact that you can colour adjust the screen to match your monitor (easy to send images from the field using the net or phone and know the colour is good) as well as a host of other features as well
