The P could stand for PENTAX or PENTAPRISM

Eventually dropping the name PENTAX and just using RICOH KP

Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.

My guess is the P stands for PERFORMANCE... it will be the fastest Pentax to date.
Ohhh wait was that just wishful thinking ?? !!

Every Pentax APS-C to date has been 'faster' than the previous one; so hardly wishful thinking ?

Rumour now has it the new APS-C is going to have a vertical grip integrated, which would not only be fabulous but also exceptional

wasnt that on the top of the range canons at the onset of digital ff

if thats the case then pentax are just taking it one step further and bringing it to those that are not into the ff market

and if it is true then pentax are getting ther mojo back of being the first to try things then the otheres tend to follow
as pentax was the first to do auto focus with the mef

The grip has a "Click lock" system that appears to keep the grips tripod socket lined up with the centre of the sensor (easier for timelapse and star tracking shots) and there's no headphone hump on the body... silver and black colour scheme similar to the mz5
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

It's always good to know he source of rumour, sometimes we accept these, other times we suspect it's 'fake news'. A link can be helpful.

Why else would you want a grip?
