Can't be sure but there might have been a SMC 135mm f2.8 IF FA sold just after Christmas. I think it sold for around £350

Yeah, theyre around the price I was expecting.
His postage prices are ridiculous though.. £25? Should only cost about £7.
Pentax needs to make a few less expensive zooms
I mean, the 50-200 and 70-300 are entry level
I Kinda want something for walking around, and a prime around 85/135/200 would suit me just fine you see
Maybe Ill check out some manual focus lenses.

His postage probably includes a handling charge by the courier. Quite often you will see cheap postage and then find that the carrier will charge £15 - 20 handling charge that must be paid before they will hand the goods over.
There is a A series 135 on Ebay at the moment £60 -80 seems to be the going price.
If you can live with the reduced automation M series 135 are very common (£25 -30).
I have a M 135 F3.5 which is a cracking little lens for the money.

Well.......,In collectors language the term new is a valid one you can use, as a describtion for the item on sale if it has never left it's box or plastic seal. And i know for a fact that a lot of japanese collectors (and stores who sell this items ) buy items new, but never open the box or seal. Ah, 'new' as in 'never used' as opposed to 'bought recently and not used yet'.Well.......,In collectors language the term new is a valid one you can use, as a describtion for the item on sale if it has never left it's box or plastic seal. Well, i heard this from an uncle who collects and selles rare Leica stuff. He goes to Japan on regular basis to get very rare items. You could indeed wonder if it is still useble after so many years of sitting stil. But thats the funny thing that goes with very serious collecting.. They never plan to use the stuff for what it was invented Just place it in a cabinet and look in love at it.( and silently pray that some other fool will pay even more for it as the poor man did himself, i guess. )Malo1961 wrote:

I won an Ebay sale of a FA 135mm F2.8 a couple of years back for under £100, however the lens mysteriously went missing in the post and my payment was quickly refunded. My suspicion was that the seller (a photography shop) didn't want to let it go for that little.
I'm not sure what an FA* 85mm F1.4 would go for however I was watching an A* 85mm F1.4 recently and it was at £430 with some time left to go (I don't know what it finally sold for though).
