No, hadn't even seen it until you mentioned it, just had a look at completed items.

I think that's a lens to get if you're very much into portraits. I'm not.

Yeah, theyre around the price I was expecting.
His postage prices are ridiculous though.. £25? Should only cost about £7.

Pentax needs to make a few less expensive zooms
I mean, the 50-200 and 70-300 are entry level
I Kinda want something for walking around, and a prime around 85/135/200 would suit me just fine you see
Maybe Ill check out some manual focus lenses.
Here's a 200mm f2.5. Its only a K lens though

I bought my FA* 85mm F1.4 when I'd got into portraiture, including using studio lights. I also found it useful for theatre & dance type photography. It is very specialist though so despite being probably my most valuable lens it's not one of my most used.

Chris at SRS seems to have an A*200 F2.8 on Ebay at the moment here:

This ebay trader has some of the more exotic Pentax glass for sale occasionally. They have some real gems on offer at the moment. Be warned, you might need a mortgage.
You're not wrong.

How on earth can he claim to have one of these new?
Hi Chris - I think it's fairly likely that a few 'new' ones of these still exist. It's only just over 18 months ago that I picked up SRS's last one of these. It was clear from the paperwork in the box that it had been a fairly recent production run... probably the last tho I'll admit!

eh my mum just told me shes not letting me buy any more lenses for now anyway (even though all those wanted were out of the price range

So basically that means no 90/100/105mm macro(depending on the manufacturer) but a 50-200 instead

I prefer primes as well

You can get the Cosina 100mm F3.5 Macro (or the re-badged Pentax version) for less than the price of a 50-200.

I can't find one anywhere on the internet (checked ebay too), have you seen on anywhere recently, or know of any sites that may have one? I havent really seen any Cosina equiptment anywhere.

They pop up reasonably frequently on Ebay - they can also be badged as Vivitar, Pheonix, Voigtländer or Pentax so it's worth looking for those as well. There are none listed in Pentax fit at the moment though (other than a Pentax badged one in an Ebay shop for a ludicrous $379.99) but it's worth keeping watching as when they do come up they can be very cheap (mine was £37 in boxed/virtually un-used condition).

The A 50mm 1:1.2 was actually a current lens until very recently, and it is not impossible that Pentax might still be making small batches.

The same is true of one or two other A lenses that never made it into F or FA form.
