I think it was loading the film onto the reel inside a changing bag.

I got a Kaiser loading reel as the Paterson one I had was 'eating' the film at the end. Yes the reel was bone dry so it wasn't a case of wet reels but acted like it.

I don't like using a changing bag, I am paranoid about not letting the film surface touch anything but the angle I was loading it at must have scored it. At first I thought it was the MX shutter curtain.

The Kaiser film loaders are good, better than Paterson, so I blame me using the bag.

So exposures 1-17 ruined , but I have a few from 18 onwards.

"In a photographic context I don't like the use of the word 'shot' as where I live this word refers to an extreme act of violence and not the beautiful craft of photography"
