Oh well....
That was a very fair price. I got one with the PKA adaptor and 1:1 extension tube for under £75, all boxed etc... keep your eyes peeled and a bargain may crop up again. Anything under £100 and you'll have no difficulty recovering your costs if you decide to sell it. I kind of wish I hadn't sold mine as I loved the compact size (without the extension tube).

This version is 1:1 already, doesn't need the extension tube.

Ah, then that's even better... the extension tube was an annoyance to be honest so I never took it out with me

Ebay prices are weird.

About two months after buying my K-m I managed to get hold of an SMC Pentax 55/1.8 for £8. I rather thought such bargains had disappeared now, but early this year I spotted a minty black ME with 50/1.7, strap, ERC and manual. It turned out to be very original (the manual has the serial of the body printed inside) and in perfect working order with only a little scrape on the lens mount surround. Price? £20!

I've since seen someone attempting to get £120 BIN for an MV1 and things like the non-SMC A 28-80mm with asking prices of £70 or so. There doesn't seem to be any logic at all!

Your the one that's been driving up the prices Matt

Usually if someone does a search and finds a site that says
"that's a good lens" (even though it's junk ), they go daft
with their bids

Any German junk needs a top up mortgage these days

I thought I'd been doing exactly the opposite with any non-SMC lenses!

I may be partly responsible for rushes on 28mm f3.5 lenses and/or anyone chasing 120mm f2.8s, although the latter seem rare enough that the collectors will push the price through the roof before anyone intending to use the thing day to day gets a look-in. Mine does get used, but rather carefully as I quite like it and don't want to risk (for example) dropping it in a muddy hole!

I've had mixed luck on ebay, but there definitely are bargains to be had still. My 645N for £115 including postage and the 220 film holder for it for £2.50 are just two of them. You just need to be patient and not bid higher than you'd like.

LOL, I might try to sell my new macro lens now to fund a 70-200 f2.8 lens....
Cheers,
