MZ-M problem

Hi everyone,

I recently got an MZ-M and wanted to use it this past week for the first time. I loaded the film, closed the back cover and waited till it went through the film loading process. Then the little film role icon started to blink on the display on top of the camera. I popped open the back cover and found that the film lead wound into the cartridge. I tried again three times and the same thing happened. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if I got a lemon. I thought I was following the right procedure in loading the film. Has anyone else experienced this? I would appreciate some help. Thanks.
Regards,
Angelo

Dear All,

I'd like to tell everyone how I resolved the problem with my MZ-M. Basically, a couple of weeks after I posted the problem, I called the store where the camera was bought here in Italy. They told me to call the repair service. So, I called Tecno 2000 in Firenze, Italy. They repair Pentax cameras. Mine is still under guarantee. When I called I was instructed to send it to them at their expense. I sent it out on a Friday and got it back the following Thursday. I couldn't believe the service Tecno 2000 gave me. They got the camera back to me 4 working days later. They resolved the problem and it worked fine. I shot my first roll of film and got good results. I just wanted everyone to know that if you have a problem with your camera and you live in Italy, Tecno 2000 gives great service. I thought you might find this information helpful.
Regards,
Angelo

I wonder if they'd take cameras from the UK too? Might be quicker than the current system...

Hi Daniel,

I just called Tecno 2000 in Firenze and asked if they would take cameras from the UK. I was told that generally they only take cameras from Italy since sending them back to you out of the country would be a problem. This is because they use a local forwarder. They also said that Pentax uses different repair services in each country for that specific country. However, they mentioned that anyone living outside of Italy may inquire by email. An email may be sent to them at [email protected]. Please note that that word techno in their email address has an h added to it. Their phone number is +39 055-31 06 72. Fax +39 055-30 81 26. They have some technicians that speak English. I hope this helps.
Regards,
Angelo
