Mystery Creature Tease

Anyone care to try and guess what the mystery creature is?
I'll reveal the answer in due course.

I would guess it's a very small moth, we get some that look like this on our Marjoram and Oregano plants?

A couple of days ago I had a speckled wood come into the conservatory and it was quite a job leading it to the way out! If its was the same one I took this afternoon its been in the wars since having lost some of the rear of its wing.
The full image is uncropped taken on the K-1 with the DFA 100mm macro lens (1/1250 @ f5.6 ISO 1600.) Both the teasers were 100% crops (actual pixels) of the image. I never cease to be amazed what the K-1 can do.
Made a change to cabbage whites!

For the record, moths have feathery antennae with filaments sprouting from the main stem(s). Butterflies have plain, smoother antennae, as shown above. That much, at least, was a plain giveaway !

John, a question, have you tried the K1 with any non-AF glass...
ie: REALLY OLD glass glass, rather than plastic glass!!
I am still using my *istD as it seems the only camera that will close the iris!!

Thanks! It was nice to get a photo lie that straight out of the camera without having to do anything to it, while I did process it from the dng, the camera jpeg wasn't that different. It hasn't been cropped or anything cloned in or out at all.

Yes, quite a lot. A number of M, K and A Pentax glass (primes and zooms), a couple of Hoya tele primes, a couple of Chinons and a Tamron 500mm mirror. Nothing from the M42 era though, I part exchanged those long ago to get my ME, MX and K2. ! If you'd like to suggest any lenses in particular I'll produce something from them for you (presuming I have a copy!) If you have the FA31 and FA43 limiteds they're fabulous.

Currently a Chinon lens is almost "glued" to the *istD....
so that is very good to know....
