Some of you may remember my very first Kingfisher shot a few weeks ago, well I hadn't seen another since today and so I proudly present my second attempt. I feel I am improving in leaps and bounds and hope that in coming weeks to get something that is actually recognisable as some type of bird, never mind a Kingfisher.

Can't help smiling Mike - took me 3 years to get a set of recognisable Kingfishers. It became a crusade and then when I had them (and they were OK - not great)I gave up - have not attempted them since - I can be reasonably patient but the thought of maybe another 3 years before another set - no thanks - will leave it up to those so much better at this than me.

You could have run a spot the kingfisher competition with this one!

You've still managed two more photos of them than I have though.

Kudos for daring to publish such gems.

don't kingfisher have a resting perch?? that they sit on to see the fish that they return to time after time??

What you need are lenses, more lenses, bigger lenses, better lenses, faster lenses, vintage lenses and when you have these, your pictures will be perfect!

I've looked at this a few times today and still can't see a kingfisher in the shot.....

What's the matter with your eyes a beautiful kingfisher shot and the subject is smack in the middle of the frame (composition Mike tut tut) flying away.
