My K5 has probabily gone !!!

dear all,
I think I destroyed my k5. don't ask my how, I'll keep that as my own secret. the question now is quite simple: should I go for a k5iis or a k3 ?
any advise ?

Yes - whichever one you go for - don't destroy it

That aside - depends on personal taste and main interests as much as anything else. I settled on the K5IIs because I value the better low light handling more than the better AF capabilities of the K3

Can't comment on the K3, but the move from the K5 to the K5IIs was just about right for me

Hmmm tough decision.....
I think it comes down to:

K3 Better Autofocus & higher pixel density
K5II/s Better in low light

If you want to take pictures of birds in flight or aircraft then the K3 would probably shade it, otherwise I'd go for a K5II or IIs, there isn't much to choose between a II & IIs in real terms, at least not that I've noticed...

Instead you have made me curious about what happened to the K-5!

well the k5iis is basicly the same lay out as your k5 with the controls were the k3 is diffrent so it depends on how quick you want to be up and running
