Hard to tell too much from smallish jpegs but it looks pretty good to me too. Not heard of the make myself. Nice shots as well, especially the second one with the tinsel.

Yes,
Quantaray has been at it for quite some time - with VERY reasonable prices and quality.
My evil Nikonian brother in law who has a small fortune invested in Nikon, Sigma and Tamron glass, bought the 28-80 as a travel lens and has not removed it since his golfing trip to Pheonix Arizona.
Very respectable.

Qunataray is the name Ritz Cameras uses for it's own lenses I believe. Some are made by Sigma I know.

(I also bought a snake from him, but that's another picture at another time)
Been a bit intimidated by the long zoom, so I took it to a Christmas parade a few weeks back.
Well, it came off pretty quick, just b/c I found it cumbersome and slow for shooting subjects coming right at me.
Glad I brought the little 28-80, as I wanted to try it too.
I'm pretty pleased with the focus and color rendition, especially in the second one where the shiny jacket and tinsel aren't blown.
Never really heard of Quantaray before, anyone else have good experience with one?
Here's a few taken in cold crisp air with a 3:00 winter sun (nothing fabulous, just pleased with the lens):
