Very good first shot Sam
Compositionally it is a bit central for my taste. I can see what Gareth means about sharpness - it is reasonably sharp but not brilliant. The blurred edge of the right side petal tricks my mind into thinking more of the flower is out of focus. Still, it's a very good start!
