Did our 1st baby shoot recently for 2 of our closest friends, no special tricks either natural light or bounced flashgun. Just a few of my favourites C&C appreciated please.

Not keen on the first one, looks like part of the hand is missing

Number 3 is just your usual baby shot, nothing to like/dislike really.

Do like number two though, would be happy with that.

I'd go along pretty much exactly with what Mike says. Number 2 is a great portrait but 1 and 3 leave me a bit meh...

What they ^ said Number 1 is a bit odd-looking, number 2 is great, nice dof and lovely glint to her eye. Number 3 I find a bit weird, a 'normal' baby shot but because of the way the dress is scrunched up around her neck it looks a bit like you've pasted on a 40 year old man's balding head! (don't tell her parents that )

Adding to Tim's post - the deepish lilac pillow [ ? ] in the last one doesn't help either - but I bet the mum chose that It doesn't help the skin tones one little bit

#1 does nothing for me - #2 is beautiful and a treasure for the future - #3 does look a bit odd ( like one of those seaside cardboard cutout scenes you put your head through ! )

Sorry but you did ask !

No. 2 is an absolute winner, imho.

No. 1 reminds me of cartoons where the characters seem to have four fingers only.

I think no.3 would have gained from a more neutral coloured pillow.
Best regards

Number two is the best for me, a lovely expression and a very nice B&W conversion.

I'm going to buck the trend and say I actually like number one. Don't ask me why, I'm not sure I know, but I like it!
If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.

Apparently.

I think if the hand was flatter, you would have a good image there.

Number 3 looks like a generic baby shot with the hand chopped off

Number 2 is great, tip for you though, focus on the eyebrow instead of the eye, will make the face look a lot sharper as the eyebrow hair will be in focus...

So, number 2 then!

This was a first for both of us so was trying something different as well as the usual stuff. Yes the clothes / backdrop are all mum's choice so we had to go with that, but we are doing lots of mono conversions as well!

Thanks for the tips, now off to get some more done!
