A fine way to end the year Alan. I love the clouds and rocky foreground, which seem to echo each other and balance nicely. No compositional gripes at all this time
I prefer the colour tones on the first, the 2nd has quite a strong blue cast ... did you change colour or WB, or is it just different processing?

Both are lovely photos Alan but, and not just to be different, I choose number 2. The swirling of the water over the rocks echoing the wind-swept motion of the clouds, and both contrasting with the apparent calmness of the middle third of the scene, give that shot more dynamic interest for me.

I love the sea in the first image and the skies in the second... go figure. Both lovely images though, I'd be pleased with either.
BTW I think the horizon dips a minute amount to the left. Sorry, I'm a bit anal about horizons...

I prefer no 2 as there is a little more going on. Personally I also like the color tone. Well worth getting up for.

Two lovely images, it's interesting to compare them side by side with and without the 10 stopper. BTW, is it the Haida Alan? The warming effect looks characteristic of that filter.
The first one shades it for me, I prefer the tones in this one and also the smoothness of the water around the rocks.
Regarding the horizon, I'm not sure if it is this that's not level, I would lean towards a bit of lens distortion creating this effect?

Curious one that. The lighthouse appears to be quite vertical, so that suggests lens distortion BUT there is a low-lying something or other in the sea right up against the horizon which visually pulls it down slightly.
I'm going to say 'not guilty' as regards an actual slope.
