2 excellent shots Gary! Not a wildlife kind of guy me, but I appreciate the IQ and sheer impact of your Gull image, and the Piers have a very nice curvy layout with keeps the eye occupied.
The blue background behind the Gull is unusual in tone, but I really like it and it complements the colours of the bird well.

The gull is superb, love the background and the way you caught the eye speckle.
first time I have seen one with it's beak shut, you obviously weren't eating fish-n-chips

Nice work, Gary. The gull portrait has lots of pleasing detail and the piers appear to be engaged in a rare strain of marine Tetris. The shots might be very different, but they are equally striking and have parallel appeal.

As has been already said, the Gull portrait is superb. Personally i'm not so keen on the Whitby scene. Although it isn't it gives a distorted look to me..

Two great images here, you've nailed it with the gull shot, it screams 'quality' to me. The pier shot is a bit more standard, but nonetheless very good, I particularly like the composition.
What lens was used for these two images?

Thanks for the comments chaps. Both images with the 50-135mm.
Possibly the finest mid-tele zoom ever produced though not too fast with AF.
Best regards
