Very, very sorry to hear that Gwyn. I know from experience how empty you will feel at the moment. Whenever I went for a walk after my dog died there was always an absence bouncing along beside me. It takes ages to get over that feeling but you will always have some lovely memories.

I really feel sorry for you. The house really feel empty without those furry friends. Hopefully, you'll get over it, eventually. Good luck.

Oh, Gwyn, I'm so sorry to hear that! We had a similar experience last December, although our dog was 11 years old and a bit poorly. He died in my arms in the car on the way to the vet's. The suddenness, it happening so unexpectedly caused a huge shock. Although we still have three dogs left, our house lost part of its soul.

We have had dogs for 42 years and its always such a sad time when they leave us. My solution is off down the dogs home to give another unwanted friend a home for life. They never replace the ones that leave but they always take away some of the pain.

Sorry to hear this sad news - as someone who didn't grow up with pets, I've learned more recently how wonderful it is that animals can become such an important part of our lives and routines, how they give comfort in a way that people sometimes can't (especially to our kids) and how much more we get from having them around than people might ever imagine.

We lost ours in 1997 to cancer at age 11. He was one of a kind, and I'm sure your dog was too Gwyn. Our sympathies.
