mx split image focus screen

hi, i just bought a pentax mx without a splitimage focus screen. I dont have the confidence in focusing objects well with only a plain focus screen..
is there anywhere to buy a split image focus screen for pentax mx? I tried ebay. but apparently quite few accessories for old film cameras are left in the digital age...

many thanks

Keep trying ebay, I've bought tons of film stuff in the past but if you just type in 'Pentax' then you'll have to wade through too much stuff. I've certainly seen MX screens for sale before. Unfortunately the split image collar/microprism screen was the standard one sold with the camera and therefore less likely to come up for sale. Have you thought of trying any of the repairers who advertise on this site?

yes, you are right. i googled one out from ebay which was end in janunary...

Thanks for your information about repairers. Where can i find them?

Try a Pentax LX screen. Some of them are compatible with MX and LX cameras and seem to come up for sale more often. If you are stilll struggling, let me know....

thx, i've got one from Reuben0 in this forum.

Does anyone still have the basic pentax mx focusing screen for sale?

I have just bought a pentax mx online and the seller sold me a scratched screen and has refused to refund. Now I'm stuck with a working camera and a broken focusing screen.

Would appreciate if anyone could help me.

Thanks in adavnce.
