Since getting the GR I seem to be shooting almost exclusively at night....here's a few more.

This one is similar to one I previously posted, but I think I prefer this one.

That last one looks very much like a Pull Up Pull Up Pull Up situation Hope you made it over the threshold. No 2 is the best for me - so close to those buildings and lovely colours in them all.

the last one is my favourite. It's almost ethereal.

The black point is too high on #2 for me. I'd bring it down more like this...

Hi I have added your page on my Facebook section, I hope you didn't mind?

Thanks for the comments! Smeggy, I quite like the darker look, but now it's a tad over-saturated, I'll have another play with it.

Louise, no, I don't mind at all; I presume you mean my Facebook photography page?

Yes thats the one. I assume you took your images in raw?

I always shoot in Raw except for sometimes when trying out street photography

I will switch to raw one day. I use a programme called Fast Stone, does that read RAW?

Yes, FastStone works with Raw. Gimp is also a good free program for developing Raw files.

Does Faststone actually work in Raw or just display the JPEG preview?

I've never actually used it, though I thought you could make some adjustments to Raw files...I saw something about it being a stripped-down version of Silkypix. However, I've just found out I'm wrong, seems it's just a viewer and you need to use another program for editing.

Gimp is a good free alternative for Raw development though.

Gimp is a good editing tool along the lines of Photoshop but more complex, and possibly not as good, as a specialist raw development tool if raw development is what you are wanting to do.

For free raw tools I recommend (a) Lightzone if you want something remarkably clean and simple yet also powerful and effective (b) Raw Therapee for top class raw development quality and control (c) Darktable if you are prepared to run Linux.

And then Gimp if you want to do some detailed trickery on the developed raw image afterwards

Is Lightzone free or do you have to pay for it?
