More K-3 Photos

Out this morning.

Just made it to the beach for sunrise. Found my 7dayshop remote doesn't work with the K-3. Didn't have time to get the grads out. So just shot some 5 shot HDRs with the 2 second timer.

Below is the middle one from a bracketed set. I haven't looked at doing HDR yet

Love Fluffy some real feather detail in there.

Do you have an idea what the dark halo is around the top of the groyne marker

Probably lifting the shadows too much in Lightroom Barrie, both globally and with a grad. I'll do the HDR when I get the chance

I like the first kingfisher shot, though a bit of background might improve it. As is it looks like an illustration from a book rather than a bird in the wild. In the second kingfisher shot, the wing and body feathers look smeared, and I see it was shot at only ISO 640. It looks like it's had too much noise reduction.

It does not matter which camera model i have or use, I have never been able to get an image of a Kingfisher, and there are always people posting images of them on here.

I like all the images, but particular the first Kingfisher image.

Why post over processed and HDR type images, I thought the idea was to let other viewers see the IQ of K3, or have I got this wrong?

These are not HDR images Karl, Alan did mention this above.

I never said they where, I said 'HDR type'

Thanks for feedback Jon. On the second, it caught its breakfast and landed on a different perch in different light leading me to under expose by a stop. Hence noise.

As to the first kingfisher. I do clone out bits and pieces which spoil shots, but I'm not one to completely change a background on a wildlife shot. So, while I understand where your coming from, this original background will stay

What does 'HDR Type' mean Karl? It's either HDR or it's not HDR isn't it?

The ones above are single exposure images, not multiple exposures blended to HDR.

Spent about 60 hours of hide time before I got my first. I was with someone today who got his first ever shots. He was like a kid at Christmas. And I remember feeling exactly the same my first time. It still feels great now. And such a privilege

You are asking me and you don't seem to know yourself lol

It was a rhetorical question Karl, I know what HDR is, I was just wondering whether you did because 'HDR Type' doesn't make any sense to me

BTW, I wasn't being obtuse, I was just trying to point out what Alan had already mentioned at the top of the post.
