I'd like to think my macro technique is improving, though camera settings are still a bit hit and miss. Comments welcome, for which thanks in advance. These were taken recently in Manor Heath Park, Halifax, where there are lovely gardens and hothouse with butterflies and tropical plants. I'll post a few plant images later. All K-3 with Tamron 90mm lens.

Nice collection; I like 6 the most.

No 6 for me as well John - like the almost human 'shock of being spotted' feel..

I had a day out with the Sigma 105 macro last week for the first time in over a year - had forgotten how much fun getting close and personal with small critters could be

No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more

You certainly seem to have got the hang of rocking backwards and forwards (and swearing to yourself when the bee moves or the wind blows). 2 and 3 take the prize for me.
As to hit and miss camera settings, I leave it on Av and stop down as far as I dare (until the meter shows about 1/20th sec) to maximise D of F. That way, all you have to worry about is focus
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
