Hi

For the benefit of photographers of astronomical subjects the Moon is at it's lowest azimuth tonight for 2011. Viewing is good, camera at left at work.

Light cloud here, we can see it but just as a fuzzy white blob. I did get a couple of shots yesterday though.

Got this early on, not as big as I thought it was going to be and I'm sure I have seen it much bigger in the last few years. Shot through a little cloud sadly.

Went up on top of the fell overlooking Ullswater. Cue a huuuuuge bank of cloud.

Might try at 5am - was great on my way down to Ullswater for a dawn shoot. Should have stopped for the moon as dawn was pants.

I just tried with my 135-400 sigma. Simply couldn't get a clear image. I put the K-5 intro live view and zoomed in and I could clearly see the atmospheric interference messing it up.

I'll try again when the moon gets higher in the sky. maybe early in the morning 2am or something.

I tried with my 55-300 the sky was nice and clear. Everything was good in the view finder. Took half a dozen shots between f22 & f5.6 and ended up with half a dozen white blobs.
