Monthly Competition Rules & Guidance

With many thanks to Barrie (bforbes) for his groundwork in designing the rules, a new monthly competition is scheduled to start in the Gallery>Competitions section of the site. The competition is in the same area as the current weekly competition, so simply select the one you want to enter. The first one I will start to run from 1st July 2012.

The purpose of the competition is to encourage us to get out and shoot something new, so Pentax cameras only and an image shot in the month of the competition. The winner will set the next one, just as happens now with the weekly.

Judges are enouraged to select a 1st, 2nd and 3rd and optionally any commended, highly commended etc., as seen fit. Comments by the judge are also encouraged as it helps us all. Although a discussion thread may be started in the forum, please do not leave any comments in the competition section itself until the competition has been judged.

The essentials:
1. Pentax cameras only
2. Image shot in the month of the competition
3. Please leave EXIF data intact - if it's stripped out then please add it in to the description.
4. Once an image is posted, it should not be altered or changed in any way.
5. Images need to be a reasonable size to display properly, about 1000 pixels on the longest side seems to work well.

First competition will be posted up on 1st July 2012, so please watch out for it!
